Sgt. Don Roberson has been with the Andover Police Department since 2001.  Sgt. Roberson began his career in law enforcement in 1978.

 

Sgt. Roberson has held the positions with the Andover Police Department of School Resource Officer, Patrol Officer and currently Sergeant.

 

Sgt. Roberson’s duties include not only include that of Watch Commander of day watch but also that of training coordinator.

Officer Graber started with the Andover Police Department in June 2008.  Prior to working with the Andover Police Department, he started his career in law enforcement with the Reno County Sheriff’s Office – three years as a Corrections Officer then in Patrol before serving two and a half years with the South Hutchinson Police Department.

 

Officer Graber also spent approximately ten years working for the volunteer fire department in Pretty Prairie (KS) where he was promoted to the rank of Captain before leaving.

MPO Werbin is a life-long resident of the Wichita metro area and a graduate of Derby High School.  He is a graduate of Butler Community College, earning an Associates of Arts Degree.

He graduated with the 186th Class of the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.

MPO Werbin joined Andover Police Department in March 2006.  MPO Werbin is certified as a Field Training Officer and is a K-9 Handler for Hondo.

Patrol Officer Hondo

Hondo is a 13-month old Belgian Malinois that comes from Hill Country Dog Center in Pipe Creek, TX but is originally from Holland and arrived in the states the week of October 12th, 2009.

Hondo and K-9 Officer Mark Werbin will immediately begin the 10-week Drug Search/Tracking and Patrol Dog training which is being held in Wichita and conducted by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department.

Until such time that Hondo and K-9 Officer Werbin have completed the training, presentations and pubic demonstrations are being kept to a minimum.  Hondo and Officer Werbin are scheduled to graduate in early January, 2010.
