Randy Coffman is a registered nurse and graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She is also a licensed Paramedic.
She entered law enforcement as a reserve with the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, then hired on part-time with them and began a full time career in law enforcement with the Butler County Sheriff’s Department in 1994. She worked for them for eight years, with six of those years as a Detective in their Investigations Division.
She joined the Andover Police Department in December 2001 and was promoted to Detective in 2004. In May 2008 she was promoted to Lieutenant and in January 2009 the title was changed to Captain. Captain Coffman serves as the Investigations Commander and supervises the School Resource Officers and Detectives. Captain Coffman is also responsible for oversight of the Professional Standards section, which handles complaints and internal investigations.
