Envisioning Andover
What is the Envisioning Andover?
Envisioning Andover is a strategic visioning and planning program for economic development whereby local residents create a vision for their community and plan action strategies for increasing local jobs and income.
The Envisioning process began with the formation of a Program Steering Committee. The core of the Envisioning program was a series of four interactive sessions, each organized around a central theme:
- Need for Strategic Visioning
- Where are we now?
- Where do we want to be?
- How are we going to get there?
Envisioning Andover's four interactive sessions took place each Thursday evening in January 2012. During the course of this process, the participants identified high-priority goals for community economic development, developed a workable action plan, and organized to begin implementation of projects.
Action Groups
As a result of the work in January 2012 by the community stakeholders, the following Action Groups resulted:
- Industrial Park
- Rails to Trails
- Infrastructure (Identifying a second north / south arterial road)
Each of these groups meets monthly, during the third week of the month. If you are interested in getting involved, please call (316) 733-1303!
