About the Program
Andover Police Department has four Certified Child Seat Safety Technicians available to provide residents assistance with their child passenger safety needs. Lieutenant Buck Buchanan and School Resource Officer's Heath Kintzel, Braxton Hill and Tiah Smith are able to inspect and instruct parents in the installation of car seats. The officers are also able to inspect your child's safety seat for proper fit and use of connections.
However, this service is offered only to Andover residents. (If you do not reside or work in Andover, it is suggested that you check with you local police department or the Kansas Highway Patrol.)
Andover residents interested in having a child safety seat inspected must schedule an appointment for this service by contacting the Andover Police Department at (316) 733-5177 ext. 0. Messages may be left directly for Lt. Buchanan at ext. 216, SRO Kintzel at ext. 252, SRO Hill at ext. 242 and SRO Smith at ext. 244.
