Sports/Recreation for Adults
The Andover Recreation Department hosts recreational/open play games of Pickleball:
- Mondays & Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m.
- Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m.
- Fridays from 9-11 a.m.
All games are played at the Andover Community Center (ACC) in the 13th Street Sports Park. Don't know what Pickleball is? It combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis and is played on a court the same size as a doubles badminton court. The net is similar to a tennis net but two inches lower. The game is played with a hard paddle and a whiffle ball. If you have questions about Pickleball, call the Recreation Director at 733-1303x461.
This year the Andover Recreation Department will be participating in the Greater Butler County Men's Basketball League. Games will be played at 6 p.m. on Sundays from 10/2 through 12/4 in Andover, Rose Hill and possibly Douglass. To sign up a team, click the registration link to the left. The cost per team (up to six members) is $250. Participants must be 18 years old. Questions? Call Assistant Rec Director Logan Singhisen at 316-733-1303 x462.
