May 18th, 2020 - In an effort to keep in line with the Governor’s recommendation for employers in Phase 1.5, City Hall and all other City buildings will remain closed to the public. Essential City services remain operational as necessary all City personnel have returned to the workplace with new safety protocols and have been given personal protective equipment to wear at work.

City Council Meetings: The City Council meetings will be held via video conferencing technology with no members of the governing body being together. The public will have the ability to watch the meeting on Cox channel seven or the city’s YouTube channel (AndoverKSCity) thus abiding by the Kansas Open Meetings Act.  Recordings of the meetings can be found on YouTube HERE and are rebroadcast on city 7 on M, W, F at 9am and 6pm and T,Th at 3am and 3pm.

Municipal Court: Staff can be reached at 316.733.4510.  

Court dates have been rescheduled all May Court Dates will now appear in June.  

Utility Bills: 

· Payment by drop box located at City Hall, 1609 E Central, Andover, KS 67002 (dropbox will be checked daily)

· Payment by mail: PO Box 295, Andover, KS 67002

· New Services or Disconnects should call: 316.733.1303 and leave a message and someone will return your call.

Permits and Inspections: Building Inspections Department Staff are working on an as-needed basis.

Police Department: All essential law enforcement services remain available. Although our Police Station is closed to the public to prevent unnecessary exposure risks, officers continue to patrol our streets, respond to calls and are available through E-911.

Fire Department: Your Andover Fire Department remains fully staffed. They are working hard to stay healthy and are ready to respond and serve the community. The Fire Station will remain being closed to the public to prevent unnecessary exposure risks.

Central Park Restrooms: Will remain open as they are a designated FEMA shelter, however, they will not be cleaned on a regular schedule.

City Playgrounds:  Play structures have been fenced off and are closed to the public.

Brush Site at Wastewater Plant: Will remain open to Andover Residents. Please make sure you take your branches and limbs all the way to the pile; do not just drop them off at the end of the road.

Dog Parks: Will remain open but unfortunately, waste bins will not be dumped as regularly. Please do your part to mitigate overflowing.

Again, we would like to reiterate, while we know information regarding COVID-19 is constantly changing and can seem scary, it is important to not panic. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) websites have resources (links below) and guidance on how you can prepare and take action. Please take the necessary precautions to protect yourself and our community.
